The Doors were a groundbreaking American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by vocalist Jim Morrison keyboardistRay Manzarek guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore. He band known for its unique blues-infused sound and Morrisons poetic often controversial lyrics and unpredictable stage presence became a major force in 1960s counterculture and psychedelic rock. Their influential career ended with Morrisons death in 1971 after which the remaining members disbanded in 1973.
